We all have something to get us through the day, whether it’s a snack, a good album, or a glance outside at the beautiful weather. Today, we’re sharing what Ed, one of our designers, says are his Work Day Essentials – all the items he needs for a productive work day.
Here’s what Ed had to say about his picks:
—
Apple Keyboard — Between shortcuts and replying to Slack messages, I need a keyboard that feels great to type on. I have yet to come across one more comfortable than Apple’s. It’s that soft tactile feedback that feels great.
Magic Mouse — Much like the keyboard, I can’t imagine using another mouse. Scrolling in any application is absolutely fluid.
Sony Studio Monitor Headphones — I use these when I record music as it provides pitch perfect tone. The same goes for my countless playlists on Spotify, which help me get through my days.
Moleskine Notebook — A Moleskine is an essential for any artist. Having one on hand allows me to quickly sketch out a wireframe for a website.
Papermate Flair Markers — I specifically use these for my wireframes. I like to keep notes and certain sections/functionalities color coded.
Sticky Notes — Because I answer the office phone, there are always new and existing clients calling everyday. Having these within reach enables me to quickly take a message and hand it off.
Batman Figures — Part of working in a creative field is holding onto something from your childhood that made you think any possibility was endless. Batman was (is) a big part of mine and is a good reminder of the creative freedom those artists and writers have when it comes to those stories.
Starbucks — Nothing gets me through my day more than a mocha from Starbucks. It’s the essential fuel for any creative mind.
